I'm not doing this!

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

BECAUSE I seriously love this blanket giveaway thingy, I had to write a not me...never have before, don't know if I will again...we'll see

I did not go to church yesterday to find out that we were a half an hour late, and did not proceed to bring the kids to the nursery. My oldest did not start a fit and we did not slip out the back door 5 minutes after we got there. We always go to church so I would never have done that!

I did not flip my underwear inside out after staying at a friends' house who was out of town with the kids. I always remember fresh unders and think it's disgusting to wear your knickers two days in a row.

And lastly, my style of writing does not look at all like mckmama's. I DON'T read her tweets and posts every day so I would NEVER start to sound like her!

hahaha

Ha ha. :) I have been resisting doing a 'not me Monday' for a while... I'm glad you started it! Maybe I will do one too one of these days.

Dana,

Great to see your comments on "My Thoughts on April Rose." I don't have a blog but you might have seen my regular comments there. (immichalATyahoo) My older sister's name is Dana.

It was so exciting to read that your baby's ears were opened by the Lord at 1:13 p.m. when your father-in-law was prompted to pray as you sat in the doctor's office! I once had a similar experience with my youngest. I noticed at four months that her head was always tipped to one side by fore-shortened neck muscles. The doctor diagnosed a serious condition, "torticolis", and said Caitlin might need surgery. We prayed for her at a church fellowship group and her head immediately returned to normal alignment!

I have another important need right now. May I ask you and your FATHER-IN-LAW to pray for our family as we welcome our younger sister Leslie's 4 kids into our lives? Her youngest will soon be 18 years old. Leslie never allowed her children meet us but are they are finally old enough to make that choice for themselves. With their dad's support, one of the identical twin girls tracked us down on Facebook. The girls are now writing me regularly, trying to come to terms with their mom's choice to estrange herself from our family and the resulting losses experienced by all. Over 25 years ago, before she married and had kids, the extended family finally insisted that Leslie "come clean" and deal with "false memory"allegations she'd been abused by family members. She chose to move away and continue to forfeit her mental and spiritual health in order to live a lie. Her oft-repeated insistence that "no one was going to tell me what to do. I'll just kill myself" was finally completed in spite of every every expense and every effort made to bring healing. Her teen sons found Leslie's suicide note and her body about 4 years ago. It's a tragic situation that has been an unspeakably deep wound to all of us, one that was never healed before our parent's deaths.

Please pray that beauty will come from these ashes, the oil of joy for mourning. Leslie's kids have been raised in a Jewish family but are asking deep questions about my faith. May they be twice chosen people. There is so much promise in the following prophecy fulfilled by Messiah. (See also Luke 4: 17-21)
Isaiah 61 The Year of the LORD's Favor
1 The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
2 to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the LORD
for the display of his splendor.
4 They will rebuild the ancient ruins
and restore the places long devastated;
they will renew the ruined cities
that have been devastated for generations.

May God continue to bless your family richly as well.

In Him, Michal
